Joey Hofer is a lifelong resident of Mitchell, South Dakota. A proud graduate of Mitchell High School. Joey joined Current Defense in March of 2024, bringing over 10 years of sales experience and a deep commitment to quality. He’s known for delivering great products tailored to each job, always completed in a timely manner and designed to meet IES specifications for consistent, high-quality lighting.
What sets Joey apart is his passion for lighting and controls. He enjoys bringing designs to life—especially for businesses and dairies—where lighting plays a key role in cow comfort, productivity, and profitability. He carefully researches products to ensure low stray voltage and minimal electrical noise, helping customers get the most out of their investment.
Joey’s greatest strength is his willingness to listen. He takes pride in understanding each customer’s needs and making sure they’re happy with the final result. Whether it’s improving a workspace or optimizing a dairy operation, Joey’s goal is always the same: better lighting, better performance, and better outcomes.
When he’s not working, Joey enjoys spending time with his family, camping in the South Dakota countryside, and racing whenever he gets the chance. His love for the outdoors and competitive spirit fuel his drive to be the best—on the job and off.
John Hoefert
John Hoefert is the visionary Founder and Chief Analyst of Zero Tolerance. With over two decades of hands-on experience in electrical noise mitigation on dairy farms, John is a true pioneer in the field. His journey began at D&R Electric, where he gained invaluable insights into the challenges faced by farmers due to electrical noise interference. It was during this time that John recognized the urgent need for innovative solutions to tame this noise and optimize farm operations.
In 2003, John graduated from electrical trade school, marking the beginning of his formal training in the field. Two years later, he wired his first dairy farm—a pivotal experience that showcased the full impact of uncontrolled electrical noise on both animal health and equipment functionality. Driven by a desire to make a difference, John developed a comprehensive process to effectively mitigate electrical noise, laying the groundwork for the inception of Zero Tolerance in 2015.
Today, John’s leadership, analytical skills, and mastery of electrical systems continue to guide Zero Tolerance towards new heights of success. His relentless commitment to innovation, and his unwavering dedication to improving farm sustainability, have cemented his reputation as a visionary leader in the agricultural industry.
Jim Neawedde
As the Director of Operations at Zero Tolerance, Jim Neawedde plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of our initiatives. With a distinguished background in operations management and project leadership, Jim brings a wealth of experience to our team.
Prior to joining Zero Tolerance, Jim held key roles in various industries, where he honed his skills in managing complex projects and optimizing operational processes.
